What is the EcoFry Unit ?

To minimize cooking oil usage, it’s crucial to understand the transformative effects of deep frying. The intense heat involved affects both the oil and the food.

Our EcoFry unit functions as a catalytic device, specifically engineered to condition and manage cooking oil. By effectively prolonging the oil’s usability, it ensures consistent production of high-quality foods over an extended period. Essentially, Eco Fry extends the oil’s lifespan by enhancing its heat conductivity, facilitating faster cooking times at lower temperatures.

Our Eco Fry unit was developed and rigorously tested in South Africa. It utilizes a blend of catalysts. This achieves results comparable to similar products widely used in Japan and the USA. Notably, it operates independently of filtration systems, additives, or chemicals. It works by slowing down oil breakdown at a molecular level. However, it can complement existing filtration setups.

The catalyst within the EcoFry unit comprises ceramic pellets. These pellets are infused with various earth minerals. They all meet food-grade standards set by the EU and USA FDA. Each component of the EcoFry unit adheres to global food health regulations.

In traditional high-temperature frying, oil tends to thicken and clump, hindering heat conductivity and prolonging cooking times. This causes chemical reactions like hydrolysis, oxidation, polymerization, isomerization, and cyclization. These reactions generate volatile and non-volatile compounds. These compounds impact the functional qualities of the oil. They also affect the nutritional qualities of the oil. Additionally, they alter the taste and aroma of the fried food.

Through catalytic excitation functions, Eco Fry disrupts hydrogen bonding within fat and oil clusters, reducing them to minimal molecular clusters. This significantly enhances their heat conductivity, expediting cooking processes. By employing catalytic technology, EcoFry inhibits thermal polymerization. It promotes quicker heat transfer and slows oxidation. This prolongs oil life and enhances food quality and healthiness.
